Book: They Flew for the King

$120.00

They Flew For the King by Frank Harding F.A.I.H.A. Aviation Combat Paintings of Australian Airmen during World War II, 1939-1945. Published by Aviation Art Australia & the Folklore Gallery. Only 1000 of these books were printed, each one numbered and personally autographed by Frank Harding before he passed away in 1990. The Forward in the book was written by Group Captain Alan C. Rawlinson (ret) OBE, DFC & Bar AFC. "Frank H. has put together a unique presentation of Air Warfare with a personal touch. His technical accuracy is of a very high standard. Each painting portrays a specific combat experience of the pilot during World War II. The painting of Dick Cresswell's Night Kill over Darwin has received the Royal Australian Airforce Heritage Award for 1989, an official recognition of his talents. This collection of aerial combat paintings is a most valuable contribution to Australian War History."
