This piece of Aboriginal Art is the story of reclaiming my Aboriginal identity and heritage. It was produced after the first journey to visit my Granny’s ancestral country – known as Kooma before colonization in Australia. The figure on the left is my logo while the figure on the right is my Grandmother who holds the four female generations that came after her. She holds them in her womb – the symbol represents ‘home’, my families belonging place. Our land has the Narran and Ballone rivers flowing through it and where these rivers meet was our birthing place. The eagle symbol represents my totem.
